HCS of Compound Libraries
This project is to identify compounds that can overcome the inhibitory effects of myelin and CSPGs on axon growth. This project is being done with a library produced by Prof. Young-Tae Chang, who is in the Dept. of Chemistry, National University of Singapore. We have identified four compounds that enhance axon growth in inhibitory environments. One of these has been tested in vivo, in collaboration with Dr. Frank Bradke at the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology in Martinsried, Germany, and promoted axon growth in a spinal cord injury model.
